Printing

Vinyl Print

Heat transfer involves creating an image in reverse, printing it to high-release paper, and then transferring the image from the paper to a garment using heat and pressure.

Heat transfer is suitable for cotton, cotton blend and polyester garments.

Light colours are preferable, but dark colours can be successfully printed with proper preparation.

This is only one of the various print methods used here at BIG River Print Wear.

Direct to Garment

Direct to Garment is an exciting new print process whereby the garment is placed directly onto a platen and locked into the printer.  The coloured ink is then transferred directly onto the fabric of the garment becoming an inherent part of the fabric.

The end result is a smooth, durable finish with vibrant colour.

This print method is best suited to 100% Cotton garments.  And the best end result is achieved on White or light coloured fabric. It is also possible to use the Direct to Garment print method on dark colours, with the use of a white underlay on the design.

Sublimation

The dye sublimation is a heat transfer process that produces a high quality reproduction of a digital image.

Here at BIG River Print Wear we use the dye sublimation process to print on already constructed garments, such as Tee-Shirts or Polo’s.

The ink transfers to the fibre and becomes an inherent part of the material it’s applied to.

To obtain the best result we recommend garments made of 100% polyester.

To ensure the best colour is achieved we recommend using white or very light coloured garments.

Generally, high-resolution art produces the sharpest, most vibrant images.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is a printing technique that uses stencils and ink to create designs on fabric. A stencil, known as a screen, is made for each colour in the graphic image and then printed and dried separately.

BIG River Print Wear does provide this option to its customers, however, it is not done on site.

When considering using this printing technique note that fewer colours result in lower costs and can be more economical for larger quantities.
